Today, Mayor Frank Melton, who is still in Texas, repeated a refrain to WLBT that he’s used in the past:
He tells WLBT “I’m dealing with corruption at the highest levels and i’m not going to back up. That’s what i was elected to do and i’m not going to back up.”
The question is: Has he reported such “corruption at the highest levels” to the FBI as required by law? Is he talking about the U.S. president, Congress, the governor, his own office? Wasn’t he elected mayor of Jackson? Does he know what he is saying?

OK, here’s the crazy part—OK, the other crazy part. Why didn’t WLBT follow up on this and challenge him? What corruption? Why aren’t you reporting it? What are you doing about it?
He told me numerous times last year about his investigations of “corruption”—and I challenged him every time to tell me what he meant. Then I could see how empty his s statements were.
So the question of the day: Why does the media let him get away with these kinds of statements without follow-up??? Folks, this is how we got to this horrendous place in the first place.

When Bert Case can’t talk about the KEH without calling it “Jackson’s Monument to Failure” even while it is getting rehabilitated what do you expect from WLBT.
Note to Bert: Melton is well on his way to being “Jackson’s Monument to Failure.” Maybe you should report on it!

I dunno. Remember that Barbour fired him. And he seemed to be gunning for Trent Lott back in the MBN plane-transfer days. And now his supporters blame Bennie Thompson for his current woes. And we know that Faye Peterson and Malcolm McMillin are out to get him. And then there is Jim Hood. And I’m sure there are, now, four Councilmembers he’s not pleased with …

Frank has gotten to the point to where if he says the sun is shining, I’d have to go outside and see for myself. Just like his 90-day crime plan, I don’t think there’s anything behind his claim until he does like Donna said and report it to the FBI. Otherwise, the same hot air he’s blown out of his mouth since July 2005.

There’s a passage I got memorized,
seems appropriate for this
situation: Ezekiel 25:17. “The path
of the righteous man is beset on
all sides by the inequities of the
selfish and the tyranny of evil
men. Blessed is he who, in the
name of charity and good will,
shepherds the weak through the
valley of darkness, for he is truly
his brother’s keeper and the finder
of lost children. And I will
strike down upon thee with great
vengeance and furious anger those
who attempt to poison and destroy
my brothers. And you will know my
name is the Lord when I lay my
vengeance upon you.”

Well, Cliff, God did say that vengeance is His. He’ll take care of it, court or no court.
BTW, I saw you on TV yesterday. Thought you were older (smile). Your son is adorable, and I’m amazed at how well he fires that pistol – and the fact that he’s still standing upright after pulling the trigger. Was that you standing behind him to support him?

Look at how crappy WLBT’s gloss on Green’s new motion to sanction Danks is:
The underlying legal battle brewing with recused Judge Tomie Green continues to flare up. Judge Green filed a motion with the Mississippi Supreme Court, responding to Danks’ suggesting she couldn’t give impartial judgement in the mayor’s case. Green is requesting the court saction Dale Danks for accusing her of a crime, “without just cause”, and requesting the court remove what she calls Dank’s disrespecful language from the court record.
Her motion is not a “response” to Danks’ “suggestion” that she can’t be impartial. The explanation that follows is so vague it makes me think they don’t understand the dispute at all.
